It’s going to cost a lot to get Aiyuk. A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles for a first round pick is probably the best comparison we will be able to find. But guess what? The Browns are in a win-now window and they have their first round pick back after three years without one.

If Cooper and the Browns cannot see eye-to-eye, there is a chance there could be a swap plus a pick sent to the Niners for Aiyuk. Even with Cooper, that pick would likely be a hefty one (a second rounder in addition to Cooper would be my best guess).

The Browns have shown they are not in a rough place with the salary cap, re-signing every key player they’ve had on their roster over the past three seasons, and that’s not going to change even with the contract of Deshaun Watson. In fact, the Browns are set to pay his full $64 million cap hit this season without restructuring it, and still sit middle of the road in cap space in 2024.

Asset management is not an issue for general manager Andrew Berry and the Browns.
