Separation Ability

Xavier Restrepo is deceptively shifty at the line of scrimmage and in running his routes. As a result of those traits, he is able to separate well against defenders that line up across from him in either man or zone coverage. Once he gets the ball in his hands, he can be gone in an instant. The verified 4.58 in high school is surely going to be even lower by the time he tests at the combine.

Body Control

Restrepo is used all over the field for Miami in both the run and pass game. He demonstrates great body control not only as a receiver but as a blocker as well. He has no problem blocking defensive backs out of plays or being able to use his body control to make a contested catch or extend for a first down. He is very nimble when soaring up for a catch and is just as well getting leverage as a blocker and getting under his man.

YAC Ability

We hinted at Restrepo’s speed earlier, but his yards-after-catch ability is a crucial skill in his pocket. His identity as a wide receiver is almost making something out of nothing, and he does that time and again by getting the ball in his hands and taking off. Manufactured touches in the NFL could be his moneymaker when we look for his landing spot, especially with touch passes int he backfield.
