Brandon Thomas is in his third season assisting Clemson’s offense and his first in offensive player development and assistant offensive line coaching roles in 2024.

Prior to returning to Clemson as an offensive graduate assistant for the 2022-23 seasons, Thomas played 2,765 offensive snaps at Clemson in his four-year collegiate career spanning 2010-13, the 10th-most of any player in Clemson history at the time of his departure. He was a two-time All-ACC selection, earning first-team honors in 2012 and second-team honors as a team captain in 2013.

After being selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round (No. 100 overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft, Thomas spent six seasons in NFL from 2014-19 with the 49ers (2014-15), Detroit Lions (2016-17) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2018-19). He spent the 2020 season as an assistant coach at Daniel High School in Central, S.C., helping the program to the 2021 AAA state title.

Thomas earned a degree in secondary education from Clemson in 2013 and is presently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. He is also a licensed real estate agent.

Thomas and his wife, Colleen, have two daughters, Mary Kate and Leila, and a son, RJ.
