Now is where the rubber meets the road for the New York Jets. Or perhaps, in the case of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, where the camel meets the sand.
Rodgers and the Jets face a year of expectations. A healthy Rodgers and a revamped offense could be a potentially dangerous partnership with a defense that projects to be top three in the NFL.
On Wednesday, Rodgers spoke to the media about his outlook on the season. He was asked if this team is more “locked in” this season following the very obvious disappointment that was 2023.

Last week, The Athletic‘s Diana Russini reported that the Jets were a quietly confident group and were as loud of a bunch as they were a year ago. The term from Russini was that the Jets “have been humbled.”
“We’re at Day 1. Day 2, I guess, but I think we’re locked in,” Rodgers told reporters.
“I think we’re better up front on the offensive side. There’s the experience, there’s Tip (Joe Tippman) in his second year. Obviously, if Elijah [Moore] stays healthy he’s a premier guard in the NFL, so I think we’re better up front and across the board on offense I think we have that year of experience.”
Defensively, Rodgers believes that the Jets are a top-tier group.
“Defensively, we’re always going to be good. We got depth with our D-line we can just roll people upfront. We look at some of the guys we got now, I
mean, (Javon) Kinlaw is a creature,” Rodgers said.“He’s a piece. Man, I haven’t seen a guy like that too many times in the league, and there’s a lot of those guys. You know, the guys that we got returned and Quinnen Williams is one of the top players in his position. Our inside backers I’d put up against anybody. Our first three corners, the outside guys and our nickel are as good as anybody in the League. The back end Chuck (Clark) and Tony (Adams) are an incredible tandem, so that side of the ball is going to be really solid, and offensively it’s on us to prove that we can be a top 10 offense.”
