Graduate cornerback Jermari Harris is back for Iowa and seems to have one of the two starting spots locked down. That makes sense. Harris has started 18 games in his career and tallied 78 tackles, 17 passes defensed, five interceptions and 2.5 tackles for loss.

What happens opposite Harris? Right now, it’s sophomore John Nestor that might have the leg up in the competition. Nestor was listed as Iowa’s other starting cornerback. The 5-foot-11, 196 pound defensive back played in 10 games last season, primarily on special teams.

Sophomore cornerback Deshaun Lee and junior TJ Hall will both be in the mix as well. Lee started six games last season, while Hall has appeared in 19 games over the course of his career.

Is this really Nestor’s job to lose?
