CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Virginia Tech defensive lineman Aeneas Peebles and cornerback Dorian Strong have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Football Team announced on Thursday.
Peebles (6-1, 290), a graduate transfer from Duke, was chosen to the 2023 Pro Football Focus All-ACC first team and was selected to the 2023 All-ACC third team at defensive tackle. The Raleigh, North Carolina native played in 12 games last season. He co-led Duke in TFLs (8.5) and ranked second on the Blue Devils in sacks (4.0). Peebles registered 40 tackles (11 solo), four quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on the season.
Strong (6-1, 185) played in all 13 games, making 13 starts at cornerback last season. He is just the second FBS cornerback since 2014 with 300+ coverage snaps to give up less than 10 receptions and less than 100 yards receiving in a season. Strong tallied 25 tackles (18 solo), registered eight pass breakups in 11 passes defended and registered three interceptions in 2023.
