Colts’ Madden 25 quarterback and running back ratings

Colts’ Madden 25 quarterback and running back ratings

Madden 25 will be live on August 16th, and leading up to that date, player ratings for each position group are being released. So how does the Colts’ quarterbacks and running backs stack up?

Fully healthy, the Colts have Anthony Richardson back under center. After appearing in only four games last season, he is still a relatively inexperienced player and with that, could still come growing pains.

However, as GM Chris Ballard said before training camp, it’s not as if Richardson will have to do it all on his own either. In front of him should be a top tier offensive line unit, while Richardson will be sharing the backfield with Jonathan Taylor and at receiver is a group that Ballard is very bullish about.

“We liked all the stuff we saw, but he’s still got to go prove it over the course of time, like any player does,” said Ballard. “You can be a flash, but he’s still got to prove it over the course of time. But we think we got a good football team around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to carry us.”

In addition to that, this will be Richardson’s second season in Shane Steichen’s offense–a system where other quarterbacks have found success. Oftentimes that familiarity and continuity can be a catalyst for a big developmental jump.

“He is just running the show,” said offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter. “Communicating with his guys, bringing motions, breaking the huddle on time, all that stuff that we do at the quarterback position. It’s been really, really cool.”

At running back, Taylor is fully healthy, playing confidently, and poised for a big year. The combination of him and Richardson in the backfield should really stress opposing defenses in Shane Steichen’s RPO-heavy offense.

“It’s so exciting because it’s almost like there’s a whole new element now,” said Taylor about playing with Richardson. “You’re not just worrying about what I’m doing, it’s like, you better worry about this guy because if not he’s going to kill you.”

The backup running back battle was one of the more intriguing competitions entering training camp, but Trey Sermon appears to have an early hold on that battle, although Evan Hull is flashing some big play potential and could carve out a niche role in the passing game.

Now, let’s take a look at the player ratings for each member of the Colts’ quarterbacks and running backs.
