Jets Sign UFL WR’s Isaiah Winstead & Brandon Smith

Two more of the UFL’s wide receivers have signed NFL contracts. Isaiah Winstead and Brandon Smith were added to the New York Jets roster yesterday, after successful workouts with the team.

The Jets are a team that have actively looked to add UFL talent to their roster. They’ve already signed Kohl Levao, Adrian Martinez, and Nehemiah Shelton at some point throughout Training Camp.

Isaiah Winstead was an interesting story in the UFL this season. He was featured in seven games, but started just one of them. During that time, he racked up 12 receptions for 175 yards, and two touchdowns. Isaiah was the first WR to score a touchdown in the UFL, with his deep touchdown courtesy of Luis Perez.

At 6’3”, 213lbs., Isaiah is a physical receiver who isn’t afraid to use his size to make a play. His physicality was on full display throughout the year – but Winstead also showcased his ability to beat defenders over the top.

Isaiah was a star at ECU during his final collegiate season, and now will look to get back to the NFL’s ranks after his UFL tenure.
