The Alabama Crimson Tide were included in the list of finalists for Zion Elee on Saturday evening, a prospect who is one of the premier edge rushers in the 2026 recruiting class.
Alabama was one of five programs to be included in the finalists, joined by the Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, and Penn State Nittany Lions.
An elite defensive prospect, Elee is considered as the nation’s No. 3 ranked edge rusher in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 19 overall player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Elee, a five-star prospect, is also considered the No. 2 player in the state of Maryland where he attends nationally-known St. Frances Academy.
The Crimson Tide’s 2026 class currently sits at No. 12 in the SEC at the time of writing, and holds only one commitment from Dorian Barney, a four-star cornerback out of Carrolton High School in Georgia.

So, will the five-star end up committing to Alabama in the future? It’s clear the Crimson Tide will have to beat out some of the nation’s best programs to secure his commitment.
