Injuries caused linebacker Shayne Simon to be released by the Buffalo Bills. Another has now freed up a roster spot for him to be re-signed by the team.
The Bills announced that Simon, only released last week, has re-joined the team. In a corresponding move, defensive end David Ugwoebu was waived/injured:

Ugwoebu left Friday’s “Return of Blue and Red” practice due to an undisclosed injury, which has led to his departure from Buffalo.
When Simon was released, it was not due an injury of his own.
Rather, the ones at the safety position with Mike Edwards (hamstring) and second-round rookie Cole Bishop (shoulder) caused a depth problem at their position. Simon was then let go. He made room for veteran safety Kareem Jackson, who signed in Buffalo.
Simon originally signed with the Bills on June 4. Most recently, Simon played the past two seasons at Pitt. From 2018-2021, Simon attended Notre Dame.
