Gary Bryant, Jr.’s versatility will benefit Ducks offense in 2024

Everyone knows that the Oregon Ducks wide receiver group should be one of the best in the nation with the likes of Tez Johnson, Evan Stewart, Traeshon Holden, and others.

There’s not one superstar in the group, but rather the collective that makes them so formidable. One of those “others” is Gary Bryant, Jr. The former USC Trojan got his feet wet last year as a Duck with 30 catches and four touchdowns.

But according to receivers coach Junior Adams, Bryant’s versatility will make him a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators to game plan for.

“Gary has made some strides with his fundamentals and release package. He plays inside and he plays outside. Gary has a high football IQ,” Adams said.

Although just a junior, Bryant, Jr. has more than his share of time on the field with his days in Los Angeles and Eugene. Many of the younger guys in that room depend on and learn from Bryant, Jr. just by watching him.

“Gary is the glue to that room. There’s a lot of guys in there that lean on (him). He’s a vet,” Adams said. “I’m excited. He’s made plays at all three positions for us so far, and I’m excited to see what he’s going to do.”
