Kirby Smart names the 2 NFL players he would start a team with

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart was recently asked what two NFL players he would build a team with. The one caveat is that Smart has to pick an offensive and defensive player.

“I think I go with two Bulldogs,” said Smart. “I’m gonna start on offense with a quarterback and I’m gonna go with Matt Stafford. Just
because I think his leadership and his wisdom and the amount of play time he’s had. Yeah, he might not have a ton more years available, but the years he he’s been there and done that. And I think he’s elite at leading it.”

Matthew Stafford is not a bad choice for Kirby Smart. Stafford has thrown for over 56,000 yards and 357 touchdown passes in his 15-year NFL career. Stafford won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams and is 36 years old.

“Defensively, I go Roquan (Smith) just because it starts in the middle. You better have somebody that can lead direct command respect and do a lot of things and I think those two guys are guys you build around,” added Smart.

Kirby Smart coached Roquan Smith and knows first-hand how important he is to a defense. Smith, who plays for the Baltimore Ravens, anchored the NFL’s top defense a season ago.
