The Houston Texans are back in action Friday night, ready to claim their first win of the preseason. While a 21-17 loss against the Chicago Bears came at the hands of terrible weather conditions, that doesn’t mean all is lost heading into the official start of the preseason.
After spending a week preparing in Cleveland, Houston will kick off its second preseason outing with an away game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everyone is pondering if starters C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson Jr. and others will play this week or if second-year coach DeMeco Ryans will wait until the preseason home opener against the New York Giants to display this new era of Texans football.
Since it’s unknown if starters will see the field, here are five Texans players on defense who are trending up and fans can’t wait to see them build off their first game of the preseason.
