New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas has a goal in mind for the 2024 season, as he enters his second year in the NFL.
Douglas burst onto the scene as a productive rookie in 2023. He tallied 49 receptions for 561 yards. Despite his impressive early production, he was not able to find the end zone once. However, he did stand out in an offense that struggled last season.
The Patriots’ offense this season will look very different.
Alex Van Pelt has been hired as the new offensive coordinator, and the quarterback room has seen major changes with the additions of Jacoby Brissett, Drake Maye and Joe Milton III. For Douglas’ part, he has one major goal in mind, via NESN.com’s Jason Ounpraseuth.
“I mean y’all should know this stat: touchdown. Definitely stay healthy but get in the end zone,” Douglas told reporters. “Just get better, better than I did last year.”
Douglas will undoubtedly be a player to keep an eye on, as he looks to keep trending upward after a stellar rookie campaign.
He has the confidence and the skill set to succeed. Now it’s just about building on it. In this particular instance, it starts with scoring his first NFL touchdown.
