Iowa football’s Tyler Linderbaum on CBS Sports’ all-under-25 NFL team

Tyler Linderbaum is morphing into one of the top young offensive linemen in the NFL.

After being drafted with the No. 25 overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, Linderbaum has quickly rewarded that faith that the Baltimore Ravens showed in him.

Linderbaum was named to the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-Rookie Team in 2022 and then Linderbaum earned his first Pro Bowl nod during the 2023 season.

Linderbaum has already started 32 career regular season games and helped guide the Ravens to the AFC’s No. 1 seed and a berth in the conference championship game last season. Baltimore led the NFL in rushing yards per game, ranked No. 4 in points per game and No. 6 in total offense per game.

As a result of his terrific play, Linderbaum has been recognized as a first-team selection on CBS Sports’ 2024 All-Under-25 Offensive Team.

Linderbaum made the Pro Bowl last year after making the Pro Football Writers Association NFL All-Rookie Team in 2022. PFF actually ranked him as the No. 3 center in the NFL entering this season, pointing to his noticeable improvement in pass blocking in 2023. The former Iowa star also allowed zero sacks last season.  – Jordan Dajani, CBS Sports.

Linderbaum’s ability to keep star quarterback Lamar Jackson clean and his work in the run game have to have impressed the Baltimore brass.

Linderbaum and the Ravens open their 2024 NFL season with an AFC Championship Game rematch against the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC.

The Ravens-Chiefs matchup is also the official opener to the 2024 NFL season.

Linderbaum arrived in Iowa City as a four-star defensive lineman and as the top player from Iowa according to 247Sports. The Solon, Iowa, product famously made the switch from defense to offense and the rest has been history.

Linderbaum appeared in 36 career games and started 34 over his final three seasons with the Hawkeyes.
