Simms, who was not retained by CBS Sports after his contract expired this spring, has been seeking a new broadcast gig and has temporarily found one with the Giants.
Simms will be in the booth for the Giants’ first two preseason games — this Thursday night abasing Detroit at home and next Saturday afternoon against the Texans in Houston.
The third preseason game on Saturday, August 24 versus the New York Jets, will be broadcast by the Jets’ team on CBS.
Simms began his broadcasting career in 1995 with ESPN and quickly moved on to NBC. He joined CBS in 1998 and had been there 26 years before being let go in May.
Simms has called eight Super Bowls in his broadcasting career and played in one — Super Bowl XXI — in which he was named MVP.
