Tuesday was the first Texas Longhorns practice in pads. It seems like it may have been a very costly day in Austin.
Starting RB CJ Baxter left practice with a leg injury. The sophomore from Florida was spotted on crutches after practice was over.

CJ Vogel of OnTexasFootball has been monitoring the situation, “He has been taken from (Texas practice facility) Moncrief after practice for an MRI. Worth mentioning that we don’t know the severity. Hopefully, it’s not the worst.”
Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods indicated it was Baxter’s knee that was the issue.
I learned that Texas RB CJ Baxter injured his knee in practice on Tuesday. Sources say he will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.

Baxter started the 2023 season as co-starter with Jonathan Brooks. But a rib injury in the season opener against Rice slowed Baxter and opened the door for Brooks to take full control of the starting RB spot.
