Versatile DB reflects on gaining Super Bowl experience with Chiefs

The young defensive backs of the Kansas City Chiefs have made an impact each season, especially during the last two Super Bowl titles.

Chiefs defensive back Chamarri Conner is entering his second season with the Chiefs, and he reflected on his postseason experience last year during Monday’s press conference.

“It’s just been great – a long process,” Conner told reporters. “Learning all the different spots (and) all the different positions, it’s definitely been great. (I’ve) been getting a lot of help from the guys. Even since last year, been getting a lot of help from the older safeties. (I’ve been) training at the nickel spot, so it’s been great.”

Conner played a significant amount of time in the postseason as a rookie and recorded two tackles in Super Bowl LVIII.

“I definitely needed that,” Conner said of his championship experience. “It was a great postseason. I definitely think it helped me a lot being able to get all those plays under my belt and play in those big-time games. It definitely helped me (and) helped my confidence.”

Because of his versatility, Conner is in the mix at various positions in the secondary and could rise to take a major role in Steve Spagnuolo’s defense with an excellent performance in the preseason.
