Bills’ James Cook has personal goals that OC Joe Brady will like

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has benchmarks he wants to surpass during the upcoming 2024 season.

Not that we know what they are.

The Pro Bowler from last year was asked about what those might be. He has them, but won’t tell you what they are.

“I don’t think I should be saying it here, but I got my goals in my head that I want to achieve and accomplish,” Cook said at training camp. “Also team (goals), so as long as I keep checking those boxes off, I’ll be alright.”

Cook earned his Pro Bowl honors last year with 1,122 rushing yards, fourth most in the NFL.

With all the turnover Buffalo’s offense has seen this spring, it’s likely that Cook will see a big role waiting for him.

While Cook won’t tell us what his own goals are ahead, the fact that he has them is probably music to the ears of offensive coordinator Joe Brady. The coach noted that he believes Cook has the ability to be an every-down rusher in 2024.

“(Cook) looks different [this year]. He’s stronger, he’s more put together. You can tell he put in a lot of work,” Brady said on July 25. “It’s important to him and so I’m excited to just see him continue to evolve and get better.”
