It remains to be seen who does and doesn’t play for the Rams offensively – as well as the Cowboys defensively – but L.A. has the weapons to create problems for any defense. Matthew Stafford has proven to be one of the game’s better quarterbacks, and McVay is one of the more creative offensive minds in the NFL, even bringing back some old concepts like the pistol offense. That’s a dangerous combination, even in the preseason.
At running back, Kyren Williams is a rising star for McVay’s play calling, rushing for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns in his sophomore season where he only played in 12 games. McVay thrives when he has the right RB who he can run the offense through, going back to the days when he had Todd Gurley putting up ridiculous numbers. Williams is his next star, the matchup is one to hate for a Dallas defense that has trouble stopping the run.
Wide receiver Puka Nacua will miss the game, but the Rams still have an elite WR in Cooper Kupp and a couple of good options in Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell in the passing game. Kupp has placed himself among the top wideouts in the league over the last four years and is difficult to defend.
No matter who plays for the Rams, it’ll be a challenge to stop their offense.
