Carolina Signs Michigan Panthers DT Walter Palmore

Jordan Ta'Amu Confirmed for USFL Draft

From one Panthers organization to another, Michigan Panthers DT Walter Palmore has signed with Carolina over the weekend.

Palmore is a spring football veteran, having played with the Panthers for the last three seasons in the USFL and UFL.

In the USFL, Palmore started in 13 of 20 games played across two seasons with Michigan. He totaled 43 tackles across that span, and earned some solid PFF grades as well. In 2022, he posted an 85.5 Defensive Grade via PFF.

Walter Palmore returned to the Panthers in 2024, this time in the UFL. He was once again a key piece on the defensive line, making six starts in 11 games this year. Palmore finished the season with 18 tackles and a sack, alongside a tremendous 90.2 Defensive Grade.

Michigan’s Defensive Coordinator, Collin Bauer, had high praise for Walter when the news of his NFL signing broke:

“So excited to see Walter Palmore get this opportunity. Was a dominant force all year in the UFL. Came to work everyday for the Panthers, excited to see him do the same again in the NFL.”

The NFL is nothing new for Walter, as he’s spent time with the Cowboys, Seahawks, Panthers, and Texans. Now, he’ll have an opportunity to continue his professional goal of playing on an NFL roster, this time with Carolina.

Without the national platform that the UFL provided Walter with, who knows if this opportunity would have been possible. You can stay up to date with all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
