While he wasn’t utilized a ton this year, Michigan Panthers RB Nate McCrary made the most of his minutes in the UFL. This has led to him earning an NFL opportunity, with the Green Bay Packers.

Nate joined a stacked RB room in Michigan this year. The Panthers acquired McCrary, Matt Colburn, and Wes Hills throughout the merger/offseason, completely redoing their backfield. Because of Colburn and Hills’ early success, McCrary was mainly on the inactive roster.
However, he was able to see some quality minutes down the stretch of the year, with Hills suffering a season ending injury. He had 16 carries for 60 yards in the UFL, scoring a touchdown as well in week nine against Houston.

McCrary is the example of a guy who just needed an opportunity to showcase his skill sets. Even though he didn’t see too many minutes on the field with the Michigan Panthers, he did enough to earn a workout with the Green Bay Packers – ultimately signing with the team today.
Without the national platform that the UFL provided Nate with, who knows if this opportunity would have been possible. You can stay up to date with all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
