Notes: Dyontae Johnson was going to make the 53-man roster before suffering an ankle injury. Now he’s considered week-to-week and that creates a problem for the Giants with limited numbers, especially when it comes to a potential IR decision. But his absence allowed us to keep both Matthew Adams and Darius Muasau on the roster while adding the fullback spot.

Jakob Johnson gets the final roster spot not only because he’s familiar with offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo, but also because he fits a specific offensive role and contributes on special teams. Pass protection, pass protection, pass protection.

We were tempted to go with two quarterbacks but with Daniel Jones’ injury history and Drew Lock’s recent hip injury, it’s impossible to justify the risk. Tommy DeVito has also played better than Lock throughout training camp.

We’re also sticking with six wide receivers for now but the Giants could easily add a seventh (Miles Boykin?) and lose a body elsewhere. However, again, injuries are creating personnel problems and a lack of depth in certain areas.
