Predicting the 2024 all-rookie offense team before the season

Predicting the 2024 all-rookie offense team before the season

One of the fun exercises we get to do every year is to choose the All-Rookie team. It’s chosen by the PFWA writers, and I’m a proud voter.

The all-rookie team goes beyond just who got drafted first at each individual position, though that is certainly a good place to start. The most talented players, the most NFL-ready players, aren’t always the highest picks, or have the clearest path to considerable playing time as rookies.

Talent has a lot to do with immediate impact, of course. But opportunity does as well, and that’s a big key for a lot of the players who make the cut here.

Here’s who I predict will get my votes at the end of the 2024 campaign for the all-rookie team on offense.

QB – Caleb Williams, Bears

A superior supporting cast earns Williams the nod over Washington’s Jayden Daniels and Denver’s Bo Nix.

RB – Ray Davis, Bills and Trey Benson, Cardinals

Benson should get a lot of work in Arizona’s backfield and his playmaking panache could produce some sizzle plays that attract attention from voters.

Davis was the 8th running back taken, but the Bills’ fourth-rounder has perhaps the easiest path to considerable carries and work in the passing game of any of the rookie RBs.

WR – Malik Nabers, Giants and Marvin Harrison Jr., Cardinals

The first two wideouts taken in the draft make for an easy cop-out projection, but both Harrison and Nabers look like the best wide receivers and top passing game targets on their respective teams. In a class where a lot of rookies figure to post some prolific receiving seasons, Harrison and Nabers do still stand above the crowd.

Sleeper alert: Malachi Corley, Jets

TE – Brock Bowers, Raiders
