Last week, it was revealed that Texas A&M AD Trev Alberts, alongside Texas AD Chris Del Conte, would appear in an official reveal of the Lone Star Showdown’s new sponsor, as the rivalry has returned between both programs and every sport after Texas officially joined the SEC this summer.
Serving as the Showdown’s new sponsor for the next three years, Cotton Holding, Inc., a Houston, Texas-based restoration company, as the company’s CEO, Pete Bell, noted that he takes this partnership seriously, as the return of the rivalry serves a return to normality for both fanbases.
“We take our partnerships seriously.”
“It’s going to be fun, but we want to make sure that we give equally what we want in return as goodness. … Having Conner Weigman on NIL is special to me.”
After many Aggie and Longhorn fans speculated what this press conference would ultimately unveil, Thursday’s news was certainly positive ahead of the start of the 2024 college football season. Here is what Trev Alberts and Chris Del Conte had to say during Thursday’s press conference.
