Dolphins end preseason with 24-14 loss to starters-led Buccaneers

The Miami Dolphins were outmatched Friday night in a 24-14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With the Buccaneers sending starters out on the field — including Baker Mayfield, Raachad White, and Vita Vea — against a squad overwhelmingly consisting of Dolphins backups, Tampa Bay raced out to a 17-0 lead in the first half.

While Miami managed to cut the lead all the way to three with Skylar Thompson leading the way, a 70-yard touchdown drive for the Raiders pushed the lead back to double-digits in the fourth quarter. Despite Thompson’s best efforts, it proved too steep a climb and the Dolphins came up short.
