Colts 4 (somewhat) surprising roster moves during cutdowns

Oftentimes when dealing with those final roster spots at each position group, teams are willing to roster, younger, more developmental players over veterans. However, for the Colts, despite using two draft picks on the cornerback position, neither Jaylin Simpson nor Micah Abraham made the initial roster. Both are developmental players, and should have that opportunity on the practice squad, but it was also known when they were both drafted that time would be needed. Ultimately, with question marks at this position, both around the starters on the boundary and the depth, the Colts didn’t have this luxury. The margin for error at this position group is razor thin, so they went with Darrell Baker’s experience–which is understandable.
