The NFC South is wide open for the Falcons this year, but they still have to go out and win some games to end their current six-year playoff drought. The additions of Kirk Cousins, Matthew Judon, Justin Simmons and Darnell Mooney should help the team get over the hump after three consecutive 7-10 finishes.
With the 2024 NFL season less than a week away, those around the league are making their official predictions. Which analysts are picking the Falcons to win the NFC South? We rounded up 2024 season predictions from FOX Sports, USA TODAY, CBS Sports and NFL.com below:

The arrival of Kirk Cousins and Raheem Morris in Atlanta has dramatically changed the complexion of this division race from a season ago, with the Falcons receiving 20 first-place votes after totaling just 12 this time last year. With NFC North and West teams monopolizing wild-card spots on our analysts’ ballots, the South is widely predicted to have only one playoff rep this year. But that one rep can do plenty of damage, as the champion of the NFC South has won at least one postseason game in 11 of the past 15 seasons. — NFL.com writing staff

It’s hard not to be excited about the Falcons this year. Last year’s team was a lot of frustration, with the top-10 offensive weapons on the roster largely underused. Now Zac Robinson comes to town along with pricey free agent Kirk Cousins, and you can hear the excitement when guys like Drake London and Bijan Robinson talk about this offense. Kyle Pitts should be in line for the season everyone’s been waiting on as well. The only way this offense fails is a Cousins injury, and Atlanta drafted Michael Penix Jr. eighth overall, giving it some insurance on that front. — Will Brinson, CBS Sports
