The LSU Tigers began the 2024 season with quite a bit of optimism despite so many new faces, entering as a top-15 team in both polls.
But they’re falling after they began the year with a ranked loss to USC in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Following that 27-20 defeat, the Tigers dropped seven spots to No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. In the latest AP Top 25, it’s a similar story.
Previously ranked No. 13, LSU dropped five spots and will enter its Week 2 home opener against Nicholls ranked No. 18.
The Tigers are one of eight SEC teams that remain ranked in the top 25 after Texas A&M dropped out of the rankings following an opening weekend loss to Notre Dame in College Station.
