Cowboys 53 man roster ahead of game-day activations for W1 vs Browns

The Dallas Cowboys have made two roster moves ahead of Sunday’s regular season opener against the Cleveland Browns. Using the vacant spot on the roster they held back after he signed an extension before final cutdowns, WR CeeDee Lamb is now officially a part of the team again. The fifth-year wideout had been placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list to allow him to ramp up in practice, but the club never had any intention of entering Week 1 without him. Now he’s officially able to be named to the game-day roster after being moved over on Saturday.

The club made a second move, specific to only this contest against the Browns. They elevated linebacker Nick Vigil from their 17-man practice squad to join the fray. The Cowboys have ruled out just one player from their 53-man roster due to injury, John Stephens, Jr. is dealing with a hamstring injury so the fourth-string TE will sit this one out.

An hour and a half before kickoff, Dallas will whittle their active roster from 54 (including Vigil) down to 48, meaning there will be five healthy scratches who will not suit up for the game; sort of. QB Trey Lance is expected to be included in that group, but will dress as the Emergency 3rd QB. Here’s a look at who is eligible to be part of the game-day squad, by position.
