Throughout the course of the Ohio State football season, we like to keep an eye on what the ESPN computers say about the Buckeyes’ chances of winning each of its games. It’s one thing to get a look at what the bleeps and bloops of the computer say before the season begins, and now that we have some game film to look at for all of the opponents, there’s some actual concrete data to go by.
Ohio State started slow, but did what it needed in the second half against Akron to impress onlookers and the national media members, and it followed that up with an even more impressive victory over Western Michigan. But how does that play when it comes to the data plugged into the ESPN supercomputer. Do the computers still believe the Buckeyes can win at Oregon? What about the trip into Happy Valley to play Penn State? And, of course, what about the game at the end of November against a Michigan team that struggled mightily against Texas in Week 2?
Here’s a look at the updated percentage chances of OSU winning each of its remaining games according to the ESPN ‘matchup predictor.’
