Arlington Renegades Add WR Todd Simmons Jr.

This week, the Arlington Renegades made another addition to their WR room. Todd Simmons Jr. has signed his Letter Of Intent to join the team for UFL Training Camp in March, he announced on Tuesday evening.

Todd Simmons finally makes his way back to Arlington, after originally being signed by the team last summer. Because of the USFL-XFL merger, Simmons was “unprotected” by the Renegades, and didn’t make it onto another team.

Simmons bounced around to various schools throughout his collegiate career, trying to find a spot where he could make a true impact. In 2021, he played with the Wagner Seahawks, totaling nine receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown.

In 2022, he transferred to Dubuque University, notching 548 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 42 receptions. Simmons’ speed makes him into a legitimate threat in the slot, but he can also be utilized in downfield situations.

This year, Todd Simmons Jr. has had quite the journey. He played in the arena scene, with the Harrisburg Stampede. He posted 12 total touchdowns in eight games, and after some help from Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones in Baltimore – the Ravens ended up signing him to the roster this summer.

After his release, Todd was once again a free agent. This time, General Manager Rick Mueller has decided to bring him back, and hopefully he’ll have a chance to prove himself in Training Camp in March.
