San Antonio Brahmas Add DE Ikenna Enechukwu

Q&A: St. Louis BattleHawks Team President Kurt Hunzeker Talks XFL

The San Antonio Brahmas have made another addition to their defense. DE Ikenna Enechukwu has agreed to terms with the Brahmas for the 2025 UFL season, bringing depth to Will Reed’s unit heading into Training Camp.

Ikenna Enechukwu spent the entirety of his collegiate career at Rice University, which was the home to the Houston Roughnecks this past UFL season.

Enechukwu burst onto the scene at Rice in 2019, totaling 27 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 4.5 TFL’s that year. In 2020 he only played in a couple of games, with COVID restrictions hurting that campaign.

Over the next two years, Ikenna saw quite a bit of success at Rice. From 2021-2022, he posted 85 tackles, 18.5 TFL’s, nine sacks, and two forced fumbles. He earned a East-West Shrine Bowl selection in 2022 following his efforts with Rice.

While Ikenna Enechukwu went undrafted, he was picked up by the Atlanta Falcons as an UDFA free agent in 2023. He was ultimately placed on the injured reserve, and waived in April of this year.

After spending some time on the open market, Ikenna now looks to the UFL to continue his professional career. He’s the exact type of prospect that General Manager Marc Lillibridge looks to target, and should fit right into the culture that San Antonio features.
