The Cleveland Browns will have to wait another week on veteran offensive tackle Jack Conklin as he has been listed among the inactives against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This means that James Hudson III will get the start at left tackle for the second straight week across from right tackle Dawand Jones. Conklin and left tackle Jedrick Wills have been shelved in the first two weeks of the season. Practice squad player Germain Ifedi was elevated for this game as well, which was perhaps an indication that Conklin was not going to suit up in this Week 2 game.
Even just one week into the season, the sense of urgency is heavy in Cleveland. Not having Conklin in the lineup against the likes of Josh Hines-Allen and former first overall pick Travon Walker is a huge issue. There is a chance of showers as well, leaving the Browns with the need to run the football behind a banged-up offensive line.
