Updated odds for Week 2 MNF matchup

The Atlanta Falcons’ Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers was so bad that some fans were ready to call off the season. While there are still 16 games left for the team to get back on track, the next two games could make that extremely tough.

On Monday night, the Falcons will play their first road game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0). Despite ruling out their top wide receiver, A.J. Brown, due to a hamstring injury, the Eagles are still heavily favored in Week 2.

According to BetMGM’s latest odds, Philadelphia is a 5.5-point favorite over Atlanta. This represents a one-point increase from the initial line of 4.5 points. The over/under for Monday night’s game is 45.5 total points.

Last week, the Eagles pulled off a 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers in Brazil. Meanwhile, Atlanta suffered an 18-10 loss without allowing a touchdown. Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins was less than stellar in his team debut and he’s never been one to shine under the bright lights of prime time.

Cousins completed 16 of 26 pass attempts for 155 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 1. The veteran QB did have a nice touchdown pass to tight end Kyle Pitts in the first half but the Falcons were completely shut out in the second half.
