Saints RB Alvin Kamara passed Christian McCaffrey in touchdowns scored

The New Orleans Saints’ victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 came with plenty of impressive statistics, both for the game and for all-time scoring records to this point. However, one of the even more notable ones was Alvin Kamara surpassing Christian McCaffrey in career touchdowns scored, moving Kamara to sixth-best among active players (and tied for 63rd all-time).

Kamara and McCaffrey have been compared ever since they entered the league in the 2017 draft, first as division rivals and then peers among the beset running backs around the NFL. McCaffrey benefited from Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers offense, and now Kamara is reaping many of the same rewards from Shanahan disciple Klint Kubiak.

His four touchdowns included a 5-yard run to the right tackle, a 57-yard screen reception that got taken all the way uncontested, a 12-yard rush to the left pylon, and then a 7-yard rush through contact where he appeared out of nowhere from the scrum. It was a phenomenal day for Kamara.

And now he is ranked among the best players in the league. Here are the top ten active players in career touchdowns scored:
