Florida football unranked in Week 4 US LBM Coaches Poll

Florida got the job done against Mississippi State on Saturday, but a 1-2 start to the year means the Gators never had a chance to earn votes in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll following Week 4 of the college football season.

After starting the year with 11 poll points on the Coaches Poll, losses to now No. 9 Miami and No. 24 Texas A&M have Florida devoid of all support from the coaches who vote each week. That’s not new information, though. It’s going to take an upset or two for the Gators to return to national relevancy, and they’ll have plenty of opportunities moving forward.

After the upcoming bye week, Florida’s next opponent is UCF, the unofficial No. 30 team on this week’s Coaches Poll with 35 points. Then, the Gators head to Tennessee to face the sixth-ranked Volunteers, followed by a meeting with the unranked Kentucky Wildcats.

Then comes the gauntlet. Following a Week 9 bye, Florida faces No. 1 Georgia (as the away team in Jacksonville), No. 2 Texas in Austin, No. 14 LSU in Gainesville and No. 6 Ole Miss in Oxford, with no breaks.

At least Florida State is struggling to start the season, making the season finale winnable on paper, but the Seminoles picked up a win against Cal this week.

Here’s a look at the complete US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 4.
