There is a thought process which says, “You have to let players learn from bad games.” It’s understandable. However, a culture of competition rewards actual results and performance. USC, right now, needs to bench Elijah Paige for the Wisconsin game. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t play at all, but he can’t start. He begins the game on the bench and could go into the rotation for a few snaps. Paige and the other offensive linemen need a clear message: You don’t perform, you don’t get more snaps. Josh Henson has to get through, and this is the best way to do it.
