Nebraska projected to face Oklahoma in latest bowl projections

Which bowl game will Nebraska make according to CFN

The bowl projections for the 2024 college football postseason have been reshuffled after week four of the season. Following a 31-24 overtime loss to Illinois this past weekend, the Huskers are no longer projected to go to the Citrus Bowl, according to the latest bowl projections from USA TODAY. Instead, they would be heading to Nashville for the Music City Bowl.

In the Music City Bowl, the Huskers are projected to reignite an old Big Eight and Big 12 rivalry by taking on the SEC’s Oklahoma Sooners.

The two programs have met 88 times since 1921, with Oklahoma holding the lead in the series all-time at 47-38-3. The programs last met in 2022 as part of a home-and-home series. Oklahoma came out on top in the 2022 matchup in Lincoln, 49-14. The Husker’s last win over Oklahoma came in 2009, a 10-3 win at home.

In this week’s projections, three Big Ten programs are once again placed in the playoffs, with Ohio StateOregon, and Penn State receiving the invites. The projections have Penn State and Oregon facing each other in the first round, with the Ducks advancing and playing the Buckeyes in the quarterfinal.
