It’s a pretty good day if your worst player is the punter. After Jake Camarda was deactivated for today’s game, the Bucs elevated Trenton Gill from the practice squad. This experiment was less than successful, as Gill averaged just 37.5 yards on four punts. Camarda averaged 45.7 punt yards through three games this season, significantly better than Gill’s efforts on Sunday.
Gill also could not tackle Kelee Ringo after he recovered a blocked extra point, which Ringo could run in for a two-point conversion. While Gill’s struggles ultimately did not impact the final result, Tampa Bay may want to stick with Camarda going forward.
