Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule discusses preparation for Rutgers

Nebraska head football coach Matt Rhule met with the media on Monday afternoon. The Huskers are preparing to host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday for Homecoming Weekend.  

Nebraska enters Saturday’s game with a record of 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten. Rutgers is 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference. 

Saturday’s game will be the seventh game between these two schools. Nebraska leads the series 6-0 and last played the Scarlet Knights in 2022, a 14-13 Husker victory. 

Rhule spent time during his availability talking about his appreciation for Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano, the officiating during Saturday’s game against Purdue, and how the Husker offense has been creating explosive plays. The head coach also gave an update on offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua, who was suspended for the Purdue game.

Speaking as a guy who won at Temple, you go win at Rutgers, not many people have won there. He won at a high level and he came back and he’s winning on a high level.
