Packers are 3.5-point road favorites against Rams in Week 5

The Green Bay Packers lost as a home favorite to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 but are opening Week 5 as a road favorite against the Los Angeles Rams.

According to odds at BetMGM, the Packers are currently 3.5-point favorites ahead of Sunday’s showdown with the Rams at SoFi Stadium.

The over/under is set at 48 points, the third highest of Week 5.

Through four weeks, the Packers are 2-2 against the spread and have hit the over three times. The Rams are 1-3 overall and 1-3 against the spread, with their lone win both straight up and against the spread coming in a comeback victory over the San Francisco 49ers as a 6.0-point home underdog. Last week, the Rams were 3.0-point underdogs on the road to the Chicago Bears and lost by six. Like the Packers, the over has hit in three of four Rams games this season — likely creating a high over/under for this matchup.

The Packers are 9-1 straight up and 10-0 against the spread in their last 10 matchups with the Rams. Last season, Matt LaFleur’s team scored a 20-3 win over the Rams at Lambeau Field. The lone Rams win in the last 10 game in 2018 — a 29-27 victory in Los Angeles.

The Packers have beaten the Rams by at least eight points in each of the last four wins, all in Green Bay.

Sean McVay’s team will be without receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua and several starting offensive linemen. They currently rank 22nd in scoring offense and 31st in scoring defense.
