ABOUT WASHINGTON STATE

Washington State has opened the season 4-1 for the third straight season and is seeking its first 5-1 start since 2018. The Cougars enter the week with the nation’s No. 10 offense (495.4) and the defense is No. 26 in the country with nine takeaways. Quarterback John Mateer is second in the country in total offense (376.4), No. 14 in passing touchdowns (13) and wideout Kyle Williams is No. 13 in the country with five touchdown catches.
