NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt football tight end Eli Stowers has been added to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award. The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced Stowers among four additions to the list Wednesday.
Stowers has emerged as one of the top tight ends in the nation. His 333 receiving yards are second among Power 4 tight ends this season, while his 25 receptions are fifth. Stowers also has a passing touchdown on the season, completing a 17-yard touchdown pass to fellow tight end Cole Spence in the Commodores’ Week 2 win over Alcorn State.
Stowers is one of 12 non-quarterbacks in FBS with a passing touchdown this season and one of just two tight ends to complete a pass for a score. Stowers and Penn State’s Tyler Warren are the only tight ends in FBS with both a receiving touchdown and a passing touchdown this season.
The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the season’s outstanding college football receiver regardless of position (the award defines receiver as any player who catches a pass hence, tight ends, slot receivers and backs, inside receivers, wide receivers, split ends, and running backs are eligible) by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc.
