I’d be very surprised if Ewers doesn’t play Saturday in Dallas. Ewers suffered his oblique strain in Week 3 against UTSA on Sept. 14. He will have had four full weeks to heal. That said, I don’t believe he’ll be 100%. I think there are some nagging issues that the team is trying to manage. Ewers strained his oblique on a deep ball. I think that’s one area to watch, can he still throw long. 

Arch Manning was very good in relief of Ewers. He showed superstar flashes. Manning throws a better deep ball than Ewers does. But there are a lot of times his inexperience showed. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian ran a scaled back offense with Manning. Ewers, in his third full year as starter, has experienced about every situation at Texas.
