Houston Roughnecks Re-Sign WR Keke Chism

Yesterday, the Houston Roughnecks returned another key playmaker from 2024. WR Keke Chism has officially re-signed for the 2025 UFL season, bringing depth and physicality back to this offense.

Keke Chism has been in the spring football scene for a couple of years now. He started out in the USFL, with the Houston Gamblers in 2023. Chism posted 244 yards and two touchdowns during that campaign, not making any starts but seeing quite a bit of playing time.

When the Gamblers were rebranded to the Roughnecks, Keke made his way to the UFL. Head Coach C.J. Johnson put an emphasis on getting Chism more involved – and they did. He started nine of 10 games played in 2024, totaling 353 receiving yards and a touchdown.

What makes Keke so valuable to this roster is his physicality. Time and time again, he showed his ability to get the 50-50 balls, using his size and strength to make athletically incredible receptions. According to PFF, Keke hauled in 11 of 15 contested catches this season.

While the WR room will look a little different in Houston this year, having Keke back is excellent news. He’s electric, and should see even more production in 2025 if the quarterback situation can get handled smoothly.
