Steelers preparing for 'game-wrecker' Maxx Crosby

On film study of QB Aidan O’Connell:

“From this year its a little bit more difficult just because when he’s been in the game, it’s been late in the game and it’s all up-tempo passing, trying to get the ball out and trying to come back late in games. You can watch a little bit of last year as well but it’s a different coordinator obviously, so there are going to be some challenges for us.” – Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt

On the Raiders’ offensive weapons:

“They’ve got a lot of guys, man. I’ve always respected Jakobi Myers and his well-rounded game. Tre Tucker is a jet sweeper, double move guy. He’s got really good top end speed. D.J. Turner’s role has been elevated since Davante has missed some time. D.J. was next door here at Pitt. He’s a sturdy body wide out. He’s good in traffic. He can oftentimes play inside against linebackers in positions like that because of his sturdy build. I think they even handed him a ball out of the backfield on a run last week as an example of the versatility within his skill set. So we got a lot to deal with, to be prepared for.” – Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin

“I think 16 [Jakobi Meyers] is a very capable receiver, 89 [Brock Bowers] as a young player is a really good football player. So, they can pick up the slack, I think, with those two guys. And No. 11 [Tre Tucker] has been doing a really good job in terms of blowing the top off some things. So, they compensate. I don’t think it’s been one guy doing it. I think they kind of spread it out a little bit, which makes it a little bit tougher. When you have Davante, you know you’d better take care of him, and the other guys, you kind of work at it. Now that they’re spreading it around and everybody is able to get it and working hard to get it, we’ve got to be really on top of our stuff this week.” – Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin
