Another week, another loss, another game which slipped away for USC. The Trojans are creating a season in which the same patterns emerge, even if the more specific details are altered. This week, USC played well in the first half. Usually, the Trojans play well in the second half. The larger reality remains the same: USC is a 30-minute team, good for half a game, not a full one. As we dive into our USC football report card for Penn State, let’s briefly note how Nittany Lions Wire graded Penn State quarterback Drew Allar for this game:
“Grade: A
“This was the best game Drew Allar has played since stepping on campus for the Nittany Lions. He lived up to the five-star billing in every facet of his game on Saturday, going 30-of-43 for 391 yards and two touchdowns. Allar was in complete control of this offense, and they pulled off a huge road win.”
A quarterback with three interceptions threw for nearly 400 yards and was able to make every important play Penn State needed late in the game.
