Week 7 of the college football season was among the most anticipated of the 2024 year, and it certainly did not disappoint.
The Oregon Ducks took down the Ohio State Buckeyes. Texas dominated Oklahoma. Penn State, LSU and USC went to overtime. All of these wild results led to a shake-up in our projected 12-team College Football Playoff field, with a new team in the top four and some rearranging in the first round.
There is still a lot of football to be played over the next several weeks, so this ranking will undoubtedly change again, but for now, this is what things look like heading into Week 8.

Playoff Format Refresher: The 12 participating teams will be the five conference champions ranked highest by the CFP selection committee, plus the next seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded one through four and will receive a first-round bye. The fifth conference champion will be seeded where it was ranked or at No. 12 if it is outside the top 12 rankings. Nonconference champions ranked in the top four will be seeded beginning at No. 5. Because of this, the seedings, 1 through 12, could look different than the final rankings.
