With six weeks of the NFL season in the books, it’s time to check in on the rookie class. Many in the 2024 NFL Draft class have already carved out big roles for their teams through mid-October, with some excelling more than others in the early going.
The leaders in Pro Football Focus overall score at each positon come from all over the draft, not just the first round. A minimum of 20 percent of snaps played at their primary position is required for consideration.
It’s also interesting to see what has changed over the weeks. Who is sustaining a strong start, and who is coming on as the NFL weeks progress?
Daniels scores an 83.3, the only rookie QB above 65.
The Buccaneers back, taken in the fourth round, has run to the top of the class after six weeks with a 77.2 overall rating.
Nabers has missed time with injury but the Giants standout is already electrifying the New York passing attack with an overall grade of 80.4. It’s a very good rookie WR class thus far, and Nabers is at the top.
Bowers was the No. 13 overall pick by the Raiders and he’s been every bit as good as advertised, earning the top score at 85.2
Pittsburgh’s second-round pick is already one of the NFL’s top-graded centers, not just considering rookies. His 82.2 score stands out.
Puni jumped right into the 49ers lineup as the starting right guard and has graded out well, with a 78.3 overall mark. Not a bad start at all for the No. 87 overall pick.
The No. 5 overall pick has an overall grade of just 72.4, but that leads a rookie OT class that has really struggled to earn good marks through six weeks.
The big second-rounder from Texas has been a huge contributor for the Titans defense, earning a 70.1 overall grade.
Verse, the No. 19 overall pick, paces all rookie pass rushers with a 79.1 overall grade thru Week 6.
Carlies has stepped into the Colts lineup as a fifth-rounder and earned a 78.3 overall grade, boosted by a mark of 84.8 in his first start in Week 6
The Giants got an early keeper in Phillips. The third-round pick from Kentucky paces all rookie CBs with an 80.6 overall grade.
